With the increasing demand for land, there is less space to grow large vegetable gardens at home. This is why many home gardeners have started to use hydroponics to grow their fresh leafy veggies. As time passes, hydroponic home growing of strawberry, tomato, herbs, and herbs is becoming more popular.

A simple DIY hydroponic Wild Lettuce system can grow small leafy plants like lettuce, herbs, and other vegetables. You can learn how to set up one of these systems and you'll have year-round fresh lettuce, herbs, cucumbers, spinach, bok Choy, and other delicious fresh foods. These leafy plants thrive in smaller spaces and can be replanted within 6 weeks. These plants will give you beautiful, healthy leaves in a short time. You will need to set up a Styrofoam platform on top of a plastic container. This will act as a reservoir and allow the plant tops to hang in the water. Hydroponic gardening requires special pots, called net cups.

What you will need: A rectangular plastic container measuring between 6 and 8 liters in depth, preferably with sides that slope inwards to support the foam lid.

* 1 1/2" - 2 1/2" Styrofoam sheeting cut to fit just below the box's rim

* A few 2" net cups. You will need to space them about 8 inches apart.

* A pump

Now, you will need to cut holes in the Styrofoam to fit the pots. Plant your lettuce plants in the pots by filling them with Hydroton or clay balls.

Place the pump in the reservoir and fill it with your nutrient-infused water. Watch your plants grow! You will need grow lights depending on the location of your hydrobox. You will get the best quality plants if you buy grow lights.
